Umpires' Seminar in the Park, Sunday 28 September 2008

This year the Mercantile Cricket Umpires Association will again be conducting a comprehensive pre-season seminar for cricket umpires, on Sunday 28 September 2008, from 10.30 am until 4.00 pm, at the northern pavilion Fawkner Park, South Yarra.

Umpires, scorers, club officials, captains, players and friends are most welcome.

No experience is necessary.

The day is funded by the Mercantile Cricket Association.

The seminar will consist of several sessions.

- An examination of your knowledge of the laws of cricket.

- Comprehensive field-craft instruction, practicing on-field techniques in match scenarios. These sessions will be conducted by senior State umpires.

- Pre-match and post-match duties and responsibilities.

All intending Mercantile umpires are required to attend.

Please contact Simon Phillips or Paul Baleisa if you would like to attend, or if you would like to have some input into the format of the day.

Lunch and refreshments and a bit of a sip will be provided.

Nomination to Executive Committee

All nominations for Executive Committee positions shall be made in writing to the Secretary one week prior to the Annual General Meeting
A club that has fielded an A grade side and at least one other for three successive years shall nominate one of its members for election to the Executive Committee to be eligible to continue in A grade. The club shall be fined if its Executive Committee member is absent from more than two Executive meetings in the season.
