Date of Event : Tue May 29, 2012 9:12PM

The 19th Maccabiah Games (a.k.a. the ‘Jewish Olympics’) are taking place in Israel in July 2013, and nominations are now open for those hoping to represent Australia in cricket at either Open or Juniors level.

Any Jewish cricketers in Australia are welcome and encouraged to nominate for the tournament, which is being run in conjunction with the Israel Cricket Association (an ICC associate member) and will pit Australia against countries such as South Africa, England, Israel and India.

Australia has a proud history dating back to 1973 of competing in cricket at the Games, with the majority of Australia’s greatest Jewish cricketers - including  Julien Wiener, Michael Klinger, Marshall Rosen, Jonathan Moss, Steve Herzberg and many others – having all previously participated.
